Calico by Nail Potions

Today I have an exciting new polish by indie maker, Nail Potions. This is such a great glitter! I had a calico cat when I was growing up so I really love the name. It is so fitting for this pretty polish. Calico is described by its creator as "a clear base with black and orange glitter with white texture". The polish has a really unique finish; it is unlike anything I own. It sort of reminds me of the feel of sand. I had to top it with Seche Vite so I didn't get to enjoy rubbing on my nails. Boo! One coat of Seche smooths it out. I am wearing one coat of Calico over Yummy & Helen, both by Zoya. I did add a little more Calico on my index finger to hide a smudge.

My favorite thing about Nail Potions? They are made by one of my best friends, Jessica! In our recent swap she loaned me this bottle to try out. Now I really want to try her other feline inspired potion, Flame Point Siamese.

Zoya Dea under my nails.

Zoya Dove & The Glittering Crowd

Today's nails were inspired by a cute manicure my friend did last year. It was blue on her tips and pink on the back of the nail; a variation of the Louboutin manicure. It was so cute I am still thinking about it!

I used Zoya Dove as a base with The Glittering Crowd by Lynnderella on top. The pink under my nails is Essie Funny Face.

I won Dove from a giveaway through one of my favorite bloggers, The Do It Yourself Lady. If you haven't already, check out her blog here, http://doityourselflady.blogspot.com/.

Orly Lunar Eclipse & Lacquistry Lake Placid on Acid

What do you get when you mix blues, holo and lots of glitter? An amazing birthday mani! I got a new camera for my birthday and was excited to take pictures of my nails. The base is two coats of Orly Lunar Eclipse. Next I added one coat of a blue holo mixed by me. The gorgeous glitter is Lake Placid on Acid by Lacquistry. I am in love with this glitter!

Candy Shop by Claire's

Hi friends! Today I am wearing Candy Shop by Claire's. This polish is a close dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop. When the DL version came out last summer I wanted to buy it but never got around to it. I'm glad I didn't because the Claire's version has a very similar look but for much less! This is three coats topped with one layer of Seche Vite.

And just for fun, here's a glitter sandwich I did last month trying to create the look of Candy Shop. I used China Glaze Something Sweet, Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday and Zoya Starla.

Verte de Rage by Karine

Happy St Patrick's Day! Today I am wearing a green jelly given to me by my new friend, Karine. She has created a collection of polishes inspired by our birthday club. The one she made for me is called Verte de Rage. This is such a unique and beautiful polish; it is packed with multicolored flakies and glitter. I used two coats and one coat of Seche Vite.

I really love this green! I have lots of glitter and flakies but nothing like Verte de Rage. Thank you, Karine!

My First Post

I had a dream last night that I had a blog. So when I woke up this morning I thought maybe I should have a blog. So here it is! I am working on getting a better camera, so please bear with my photos for now.

The first post I bring to you is what I am wearing today. This is OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips topped with a Lynnderella's Connect the Dots. I really love wearing Connect the Dots; it always fetches tons of compliments. This was the first time I wore Kiss Me On My Tulips and I love the color. I'm a sucker for pinks but I think this is a pink that anyone can enjoy. It is bright and perfect for spring. And as to be expected with OPI, the formula was amazing. This is two coats.

Stay tuned... more posts to come!
